My Only Surviving Journalist Credentials: Clippings & References 1981-1982

In the early 1980′s, I worked as a freelance reporter for the Waukegan News-Sun, a daily newspaper in Lake County. I covered several Village Boards as my regular beat, and I covered an assortment of various spot news events, and special assignments.
Right before I started working there, the newspaper had purchased several million dollars for new printing presses. Suddenly all their creditors began demanding their money all at once, so the newspaper was forced to make budget cuts to avoid a hostile takeover. Part timers like myself were among the budget cuts.
These are scans of the few remaining clippings that I have of newspaper articles that I wrote for The Waukegan News-Sun.
These clippings were in a box at my Dad's house, that's the only reason that they survived all these years. The newspaper is now known as The Lake County News-Sun.
At the bottom are a reference letter from The News-Sun's City Editor; and a Commendation Letter for my reporting from the Round Lake Area Park District's Executive Director. There's a little information included on those pages.
